Umra Nangal is a Village in Baba Bakala tehsil of Amritsar district in Punjab, India. It is situated 3km away from sub-district headquarter Baba Bakala (tehsildar office) and 37km away from district headquarter Amritsar, 190.6 KM from State capital Chandigarh. All About Umranangal Family

With unwavering conviction, the Umranangal family has been working to carry forward the Punjabi livelihood and progress of farmers. They have guided young minds to nurture themselves to grow in the field of education, games, and other fields to lead Punjab on a global scale.

Jiwan Singh Umranangal, a patriot who forfeited his entire life for Punjab. Born in 1914 in the village of Dhaliwal, district of Kapurthala, he joined politics at an early age just after passing 10th standard. He joined Punjab political party – Akli Dal in 1952 and continued his political career. He became the Sarpanch and Nambardar (village chief) of his native village Umra Nangal. He worked as a general secretary of Akali Dal and eventually became vice-chairman of the party.

The Umranangal family happily contributed to the uprising of the life of Punjabi farmers. Jathedar Jeevan Singh Umranangal was an outspoken person who took a stand for the Sikh religion. He gained immense knowledge by reading the Sikh scriptures and he firmly believes that a Sikh should always be prepared to die for the truth.

The same tradition has been carried forward. PS Umranangal followed in His Grandfather’s footsteps. He worked at a high post in the Punjab police. He has contributed to social work throughout his life and continues to add value to society. His presence at social events encourages people. He is part of many social welfare committees and continues taking an active part in the welfare of people. He believes in the overall development of society.

Paramraj Singh Umranangal Following the Footsteps of Jiwan Singh Umranangal

Paramraj Singh Umranangal followed the footsteps of his grandfather and the next generations are continuing to do so. He has lived an exemplary life and still inspires many lives.  He has demonstrated the courage and conviction required to face adversity. In 2015, he was one of the accused in the Behbal Kalan Firing case. Despite this, he continued his social work and continued working as a martyr. He has donated funds for the treatment of COVID Patients. Also, he took a stand for farmers during the protest.

Looking at the incessant efforts and sacrifices made by the Umranangal family, let’s Salute their enthusiasm. They are truly patriotic and it runs in their blood.
